Platformonomics TGIF is a weekly roll-up of links, comments on those links, and perhaps a little too much tugging on my favorite threads.

The universe served up a lot of humor this week.

In an effort to motivate myself to complete them, I’ll note I have serious (“serious”?) posts under way on the AI infrastructure build-out, a modest proposal for the Federal Reserve, and Maine.

Begun the Slop War Has

Now we just need to wire these up to each other in a closed loop. There probably is some risk of total protonic reversal.

Speaking of Slop: Gartner Edition

Cory points out the obvious:

Some of Gartner’s worst calls have been on dev tools. I’ve heard listed authors on reports disavow their involvement because the conclusions so beggared belief. Perhaps they’ve been using hallucinatory AI the whole time?

Gartner is definitely a popular entry on various AI roadkill stock lists.

Madden NFL, amongst other video games, is falling into the clutches of private equity. You know what to do: when private equity comes on the blitz, it is time to splits. BOOM!

A leaked roadmap indicates the next version of Madden will let you raise ticket prices dramatically and fire both the groundskeeping crew and medical staff.

Private equity is great at dismembering businesses. But given the unprecedented size of this deal, they’re bringing in some free agent talent to help with the task. Nobody brings a bone saw to costs like the Saudis.
