Press Releases We’d Like to See: Daryl Morey, Trey Parker and Matt Stone Awarded the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize

OSLO, Norway – October 9, 2020 – The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the Nobel Peace Prize for 2020 to Daryl Morey, Trey Parker and Matt Stone for their efforts to draw attention to the global reach of Chinese censorship.

The awardees have highlighted the extent of China’s manipulation and suppression of free speech around the world, and the degree to which Western companies have become willing agents of the Chinese Communist Party at the expense of fundamental values.

Morey, the general manager of the Houston Rockets, retweeted “Fight For Freedom. Stand With Hong Kong”. The National Basketball Association, demonstrating its eagerness to crash the boards when the Chinese Communist Party says jump, forced Morey to delete the tweet and maintained its blind eye to flagrant Chinese human rights fouls. After silencing Morey, China subsequently reneged on its “One Country, Two Systems” treaty obligation and has set about extinguishing Hong Kong’s liberties.

Parker and Stone, creators of the satirical South Park television show, produced an episode highlighting Hollywood’s self-censorship and kowtowing to the Chinese government, as well as Xi Jinping’s uncanny resemblance to Winnie the Pooh. As Morey was being muzzled, the South Park creators issued a timely statement addressing both NBA ethics and the Chinese sorghum harvest.

The Chinese ambassador is not expected to attend this year’s Nobel Peace Prize ceremony, but is expected to threaten Norway. Again.
